The impetus for the group name, "Phoenix 490". The 490 is birthed from a story about the depth and breadth of forgiveness. A well-known disciple of Christ, Peter, was very disturbed at offenders who repeatedly committed infractions against the disciples, and who appeared to be unlikely to ever change. He asked Jesus, 'How many times should we forgive them? 7 times?" Christ responded, 70×7.
Phoenix is a proverbial representation of our rising from Trials by Fire and transmuting said difficulties into gold. The Phoenix rises from the ashes of the Dark Night of the Soul.
