Many people showed up for my speech. I was concerned it wouldn’t have a draw. One person was offended by my content (forgivness is no easy task when one is still wounded). But most people were receptive. I was worried about being triggered by speaking to so many prison and law enforcement staff, but as Dan Cain pointed out, I might be the smartest one in the room, so relax. And a Probation Officer Supervisor gave me some solid tips on what the say and what to leave out. All and all, it went well.
